[S4] [GCE O Levels Year-End Exam 2015] Exam Briefing for Sec 4s @ Auditorium on 7 Oct (Wed)

Dear Sec 4 students,

this is an email to inform you that you will need to report to the Auditorium on 7 Oct 2015 (i.e. next Wednesday) for your morning assembly. 

Thereafter, there will be a GCE exams briefing by Ms Lim Woon Foong (for your AS exams) and Mr Seth Tan (other GCE written papers).

In view of the worsening haze, the night study programme this evening (28 Sep 2015) will be cancelled.
  • It has remained at the unhealthy range since morning; and has crossed over to the very unhealthy range since 4 pm (there is an upward trend)

[All levels] Revision during School Closure

Dear Students

While school is closed tomorrow, we shall continue with revision (in preparation of the examinations) at home.

Sec 1s, Sec 2s, Sec 3s:
  • In preparation for the exam, you should carry on with your revision at home. 
  • You can contact your subject teachers for consultation via various communication modes (e.g. emails, chats) if you need help or clarification in your learning materials.

Sec 4s: 
  • You should continue with your revision at home.
  • Your subject teachers would disseminate instructions and learning materials to you via email and the respective learning platforms.
  • Do look out for more information tomorrow morning.
  • You can also contact your subject teachers for consultation via various communication modes (e.g. emails, chats) if you need help or clarification in your learning materials.

Do check the Students Blog/ Email regularly as information for the student community would be disseminated through these two channels

School will be closed tomorrow (25 Sep 2015) due to the haze

Dear Students

As announced by MOE, school will be closed tomorrow (25 Sep 2015, Friday) due to worsening haze which may cross into hazardous level. Examinations that are affected will be rescheduled. We will inform you of the new schedule when it is available.

All students are encouraged to stay at home. Please check your emails and phone messages regularly for updates. Thank you.

Deployment of Air Purifiers

Dear Students,
In view of the haze situation, Operations Team have deployed air purifiers at the following locations which are frequently used by large number of students.


1) 02 x deployed at Info Hub level 4
2) 02 x deployed at info hub level 5
3) 03 x Learning Oasis 2 (For night study)

Please take note that all the air-purifiers will be redeployed to the MPH during national exams in the event that air quality reaches the 'Very Unhealthy' level.

Students should be encouraged to study in the Info Hub and not at open areas after school when it gets hazy.

We seek your cooperation in helping us to take care of the purifiers. The daily maintenance work will be carry out by the Ops department. 

Together, we shall overcome this hazy period.

MOE Independent School Bursary (ISB) Applications 2016

Dear Students

Applications for the MOE Independent School Bursary (ISB) are now open for eligible students who are Singapore Citizens. Current ISB awards will expire on 31 December 2015. Current recipients are required to submit a fresh application for 2016 if they wish to continue receiving the MOE ISB.

Interested applicants may obtain the application form by either downloading the form here or collect a hardcopy form from SST General Office. Completed applications are to be submitted directly to SST General Office for processing.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to ensure the proper submission of applications with all required supporting documents; incomplete applications will not be processed. Applicants who qualify for 100% ISB are strongly encouraged to submit their applications as early as possible to facilitate processing and approval.

The application deadline for awards to commence from January 2016 is 20 November 2015.

National Service (NS) Registration

Dear Students

Under the Enlistment Act, all Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents born between 01 May 1998 and 31 Aug 1998 (both dates inclusive) are required for NS registration when they reach 17 years old.

Registrants may register between 23 Sep 2015 and 14 Oct 2015 (both dates inclusive):
(a) online at http://www.ns.sg or
(b) personally at the Central Manpower Base (CMPB) Podium situated at 3 Depot Road, Singapore 109680.

Any registrant may apply, whether online or personally, for the postponement of his liability to report for enlistment in order to complete his studies in Singapore. If the application for postponement is successful, the registrant will receive a further notice from the authority as to when he is to report for enlistment.

Any registrant who does not meet the postponement criteria, or is not successful in his application for postponement, must:
(a) during registration, appoint a date between 16 Nov 2015 and 8 Jan 2016 (both dates inclusive) for his medical examination; and
(b) go for his medical examination at CMPB on the appointed date between 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

IP Survey 2015

Dear Students,

1. IP Survey will be conducted from 16 to 16 Sep 2015 (Wed - Fri) from 0740 - 0805. You will observe your national symbols in class. Your FT will facilitate.


2. Please check your Google Site for more details.

3. Remember to bring your Learning Device for all three days.

EOY Exam Schedule for CSP/MSP/3rd Lang

To Sec 1 to 3 students offering CSP/MSP/3rd Lang or Foreign Language in lieu of MT at MOE Language Centres only,

1. You would have been informed and issued hardcopies of the End-of -Year Examination Schedule by now. Please be reminded to report to the exam venue at least 15 minutes before the start of each paper. A candidate who reports sick must produce a medical certificate which must reach the center within 3 working days. 

2. Should you wish to withdraw from CSP/MSP/3rd Lang for whatever reasons, plsease download the withdrawal form from the MOE LC website, have it signed by your parent and bring the form to SST General Office as the Principal's signature is also required. However, No withdrawal applications will be accepted for the period from one month before the Year End examinations for the non-graduating classes.

If you are from Sec 1-3 and have the standard of grade 6-8 or a performance diploma from ABRSM or Trinity College or equivalent and wish to try out for the position, please contact Ms Patricia Ng

Update on Haze situation in Singapore

Dear Students

Singapore has been experiencing hazy conditions due to smoke haze from Sumatra being blown in by the prevailing winds. The PSI reading may deteriorate if the winds are unfavourable.

Students with pre-existing conditions are advised to have their medication with them daily. (e.g. students with asthma to carry their inhalers etc). Thank you.
