IP Survey 2021 (Sec 1-3)

Dear students,

The Instructional Programme (IP) Survey is conducted each year to give you the opportunity to share with the school your experience of the SST curriculum. Your feedback will help the school to review and enhance its curriculum.

This year, the IP Survey will be conducted on 29 Sep (Wed) and 30 Sep (Thu). You will be given time after flag raising to complete the survey.

In the morning of the two days, you will receive an information email indicating the subject(s) which you need to provide your feedback on. You would only be completing a max of TWO surveys each day.

Your feedback is important to us and we want to hear from you. We hope you will provide honest and candid responses. Although your details are required, this is solely for tracking the completion of surveys. Your details will not be included when the survey results are generated for analysis.

Should you have any query, please do not hesitate to email Mr Koh Siak Peng (HOD/IP).

Dear Students,

A new schedule for unstructured play due to a change in timetable will start on coming Monday 20 September, please refer to the information below.

Guidelines for Unstructured Play

1. The use of the various venues will be based on first come first serve basis at the venue. Prior booking is not allowed. At each venue, a maximum of 4 groups are allowed.

2. Once the number of groups allowed for each venue is fully taken up, groups that come later will be turned away. They are not to loiter around the venue.

3. Students must register their full names and classes using the file provided by the teacher on duty before they can start to play. The group must comprised only students from the same class.

4. The use of the venues is only allowed during the recess breaks and with teacher supervision. If the teacher is not at the venue, students are not allowed to start their play.

5. No unstructured play should take place before and after school.

6. In the event of inclement weather, ISH and MPH may be used by other S&W classes for wet weather programme, hence they would not be available for unstructured play.

Race against Cancer, a project by ACE leaders and SCS

Dear SST family,

We are the SCS@ACE team, a group of ACE leaders who collaborate with Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) to advocate for their work and encourage student volunteers to contribute to their effort.

This year, we hope to be able to help raise awareness about Race Against Cancer (RAC), one of SCS’s flagship events. RAC is a race to save lives and it aims to raise funds to help to drive SCS' programmes and services such as the SCS Cancer Care Fund and SCS Cancer Rehabilitation Centre.

RAC 2021 will be a 9-day event, from 18 September to 26 September 2021, where participants can run anywhere in Singapore by using a GPS-enabled app (STRAVA is the preferred app) to track their runs.

To support RAC, the SCS@ACE team started an initiative: The Call 2021, a virtual advocacy outreach, which would help to promote and gather participants (adults, students, or anyone willing to participate) for RAC 2021.

To help introduce SCS and RAC to SSTudents, as well as the public, we have created multiple promotional materials:
1. Promotional Poster
2. Promotional Video
3. Posts on @sstactvocates

How you can help:
1. Raise awareness! Encourage your family and friends to participate in RAC 2021. Just by running, you can help these people and contribute a little more to society even during a pandemic. Do share our promotional materials too!
2. Take this opportunity to give back to society and participate in RAC 2021! Not only can you train for NAPFA, keep fit, and most importantly, you can also help raise funds for cancer patients.

Want to participate in RAC 2021? Here’s what you can do:
1. Head over to https://www.raceagainstcancer.org.sg/signup to sign up for RAC 2021. Please note that you have
to obtain parental or guardian consent before participating in the event and are required to fundraise a minimum of $30 to participate. Do read the rules and regulations.
2. Registration closes on 17 September so hurry sign up!

Should you have any further enquiries, feel free to ask us via email at sung_yeji@s2019.ssts.edu.sg and sim_zi_hui_kylie@s2019.ssts.edu.sg.

For more information regarding RAC 2021, check out https://raceagainstcancer.org.sg/ or email rac@singaporecancersociety.org.sg.

We look forward to your participation in RAC 2021 and please do ensure safety distancing measures are always in place and adhered to when participating in the activities.

Thank you!

Warmest Regards,
The SCS@ACE team

National Cyber Wellness Advocacy Challenge (NCAC) 2021

Dear Students

SST's Cyber Wellness Ambassadors are participating in the National Cyber Wellness Advocacy Challenge (NCAC) 2021.

The Theme for this year's challenge is

--> 'π‘π’‚π’Œπ’† π‘΅π’†π’˜π’”: 𝑺𝒑𝒐𝒕 𝑰𝒕, 𝑬𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑰𝒕, π‘Ήπ’†π’Žπ’π’—π’† 𝑰𝒕!'

Here is the podcast of three interconnected episodes which explain more about fake news, its consequences and how to prevent it.

Give your support by watching the videos and fill in the feedback form so that they would be able to collect all information on how effective this was for others. Your thoughts would matter, and this would also help them in this Digitial Cyber-wellness Competition.
