2024 NRIC Registration Exercise - 21 Oct 2024

Dear Sec 3 Students,

Under the National Registration Regulations, all Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents are required to register for their NRIC in the year they reach the age of 15 years.  The NRIC Registration Exercise (biometrics enrolment) will be conducted at SST on 21 Oct 2024 (Monday) by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA). 

Date:    21 Oct 2024 (Monday)
Time:   1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Venue: Learning Oasis 1, Blk C, 03-12

Class Schedule  
1.00 pm  -  S3-01, S3-02
1.30 pm  -  S3-03, S3-04, S3-05
2.00 pm  -  S3-06, S3-07
2.30 pm  -  S3-08, S3-09

Parents will be required to login to - go.gov.sg/icreg with their SingPass to submit the NRIC registration online at least 3 days before the appointment date. They are required to do the following:

• Verify their child’s particulars; 
• Upload their child’s photograph and supporting documents (where applicable); and
• Make payment for their child’s NRIC application ($10 for Singapore Citizens / $50 for Permanent Residents) 

To ensure that your biometrics are enrolled smoothly, please complete the registration online before 15 Oct 2024.

Students are to bring along their Ez-Link Card (MOE School Smart Card) on the day of the registration.

Students who are unable to be present for the biometrics enrolment for their NRIC in school will be required to make an appointment with ICA for their biometrics enrolment.

Extension of School Smart Card (SSC) Concession Validity for Sec 4 Graduating Students in 2024

Dear Sec 4 Students

Your School Smart Card (SSC) will expire on 31 December 2024.

Kindly proceed to any SimplyGo Kiosk, Top-Up Kiosk, Passenger Service Centre (PSC) or Ticketing Service Centre/ Ticket office from 1 October 2024 to 31 December 2024 to extend the SSC concession validity to continue enjoying public transport concession fares on public transportation.  Students whose SSCs are linked to GIRO or Auto Top-up are also required to extend the concession validity of the SSCs.

After extension, your SSC will be valid for use till 30 April 2025 for Sec 4 graduating students in 2024.

Service-Learning opportunity: Singapore Cancer Society@ACE - Race Against Cancer 2024

Dear SST Family,

We are the SCS@ACE Team, a group of ACE Leaders who collaborate with the Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) to advocate for their work and encourage student volunteers to contribute to their efforts.

The 16th Race Against Cancer, RAC 2024, invites people from all walks of life to join in the fight and run alongside those who are impacted by cancer because no one should fight cancer alone. RAC aims to raise funds for cancer treatment subsidies, welfare assistance, cancer rehabilitation, hospice care, cancer screenings, research, public education and cancer support group initiatives in Singapore.

Volunteer for RAC 2024 Event

RAC 2023 will take place on 29 September 2024. You can volunteer from 5am to 11am at Angsana Green, East Coast Park, with shuttle buses from different MRT stations at 4am, to help out with the 2024 Race Against Cancer.

[Sec 4] 2025 Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) Information for Sec 4E students

Dear Sec 4 students,

As you will be completing your GCE O-Level examination this year and embarking on the next phase of your education, you will be participating in JAE, in which you can apply for courses offered by junior colleges, Millennia Institute, polytechnics, and Institute of Technical Education. In the “2025 JAEInfo Sheet” attachment, you can find the key dates and timeline for the 2025 JAE as well as online resources for post-secondary education. The “Guide to CourseFinderand SchoolFinder” attachment highlights the tutorial and shortlist tool on how to fully utilise the CourseFinder and SchoolFinder online resources that you can use to explore the JAE courses.

Dear SST Family, 

I am Zachary Poh (S2-02), Captain of the SST C Div Floorball team. 

On behalf of the Floorball team, I am thrilled to share the wonderful news that we have achieved an impressive 2nd place in the League 2 Finals of the National School Games (NSG) Floorball Competition. This is a remarkable accomplishment and a testament to the hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship of our players. Despite facing strong opponents, the team stood our ground and pulled through to win second place. 

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire school community for your unwavering support throughout this competition. Your encouragement and enthusiasm have been invaluable to our team's success.

Additionally, special thanks to:

• Mr Chan, Mr Sze, Mr Tan, Mr Lam and EXCO, for their encouragement and support at the competition venue.
• Mr Ng, Ms Adele and all the teachers who organised the cheer team to rally behind our players. 
• Ms Katherine coordinated the bus booking and the administrative staff who went to Tampines Hub to support the team.
