Invitation to sign up for the North West Youth Assembly (YA) program. (Leaders in Service-learning)

Dear SSTudent, 

Annually, the North West Community Development Council (CDC) invites nominations to join the North West Youth Assembly (YA) program.

 

The North West YA is a youth voluntary group comprising young leaders. Members are involved in various self-initiated programmes, and together with the North West CDC, help to implement community projects through a Service-Learning approach. 


Criteria: 


  1. Candidate must be a Singaporean Citizen or Permanent Resident currently in Secondary TWO level. 

  2. Programme include a compulsory camp from 19 to 21 June 2024. 

  3. PASSIONATE about community service

  4. Able to commit at least 70% attendance at meetings and community service projects organised by North West CDC

  5. Preferably residing in the North West District

*there will be monthly meeting (except months with exams) at the office of North West CDC (Woodlands Civic Centre)


Please note that you must be able to attend the full 3-days 2-night Young Leaders Camp (YLC) scheduled for 19 to 21 June 2024. 


Sign-up process: 

  1. Submit your interest and particulars in the Google form here by 09 May 2024, 6 pm. 

  2. The teachers in charge will contact you by email for further instructions. 

  3. *Please note that signing up does not guarantee selection as this is an exclusive program for selected candidates. 


Other information: 


• Nominated students will be able to accumulate service hours/points; The points may be used to achieve the Gold Award in the National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) Service Learning Category Gold


• Nominated students will be able to undertake or initiate a project which will serve or have a beneficial impact on the community at large.

The project may help the students to achieve the Gold Award in the National Youth

Achievement Award (NYAA) Community Leadership Initiative Category


• Nominated students will be able to lead their fellow mates to run a project in collaboration with the schools to have a beneficial impact on the community at large.
