2026 Service-Learning opportunities with Heartware Network

Dear student, 

Heartware Network is pleased to share volunteering and service-learning opportunities that enable you to make a positive impact in the community, while also gaining valuable exposure to national and cultural events such as the upcoming River Hongbao and/or National Day Parade 2026 with like-minded youths.


Heartware-River Hongbao 2026 

Connect with visitors and immerse yourself in Chinese culture while forging new friendships and lasting memories at River Hongbao 2026!

Volunteers will usher in the Chinese New Year through interacting with international and local visitors, and develop communication, situational awareness, and problem-solving skills. Selected volunteers will have the privilege to support as VIP liaison or tour guide.

The National Day Parade 2026 returns to the National Stadium. Forge new friendships while making memories of a lifetime.  Join us at the National Day Parade 2026 for Singapore's largest National Day celebration. 

Volunteers get behind-the-scenes access to the parade, develop interpersonal, leadership, event management, and teamwork skills.

2026 ACE@SST: ACE programme and Service-Learning matters

Dear students,

Welcome to 2026!

The SST Active-Citizenship Education (ACE) programme seeks to nurture passionate advocates engaged in Active citizenship and transformed by Service-learning and some cohort-wide programmes you will experience are listed below.

ACE programme. 

Secondary 1
Basic Advocacy and Service Education in collaboration with ChangeMakers 2.0

Secondary 2
ACE Student Leadership Board selection
Student-initiated Service-learning projects (Term 1 to 3)

Secondary 3:
Cohort-wide Class Led Service-learning projects with HaoRenHaoShi (好人好事)  
Student-initiated Service-learning projects (Term 1 to 3)

Secondary 4:
Cohort-wide Class Led Service-learning projects (Term 1 to 3)
Student-initiated Service-learning projects (Term 1 to 3)

Other than the cohort-wide service-learning programs, student agency is encouraged and further service opportunities are available through,

(a) Volunteering with Student-initiated projects organised by the ACE student leaders such as #SSTACTvocates, a school wide effort.

1) Initiating your own service projects
2) Volunteering with external organisations.
3) Volunteering through Student-initiated projects.

The ACE student leaders and your peers will organise student initiated service projects and will seek volunteers through our common ways of communication. Students are encouraged to sign up for them. Examples of projects are collaborations with Kids Learn Code, Singapore Cancer Society, MCYS and many others.

(b) Self-initiated service-learning projects

Students are also encouraged to initiate their own service projects or with their CCA peers in the areas they are passionate about. More information on this will be shared shortly on SST Student Blog. 

If you are keen, please write in to the relevant CCA/ACE teachers-in-charge or seek out a fellow ACE student leader who will guide you from there. More info on this will be posted on the SST student blog later.


(c) Volunteering with external organisations
SST recognises service rendered to external organisations provided certain conditions are met. Please note the following information on volunteering and submission of service hours documents.

(i) Before volunteering: Obtain permission from your parents/ guardians before signing up with the external organisation.

(ii) After volunteering: Obtain an official document from the external organisation with your full name and the hours volunteered. This document must be signed by the personnel in charge or stamped with the official logo of the organisation.

(iii) Within 2 weeks after the completion of service: Submit a scanned copy or clear photo image of the official document using “ACE@SST: 2026 Service Hours Submission” Google Form.

* If you intend to volunteer regularly/ multiple times at the same external organisation, submit the official document only after the last service for the year latest by 1 November 2026. 

* For service at an external organisation with a group of friends on the same dates, only 1 representative should submit the Google Form on behalf of the group, attaching the relevant documents for every group member in the form.

Welcome back and Back to School programme

Dear Students,

Welcome back! We hope you have enjoyed a restful and joyful holiday break. We are excited to begin a new school term together and look forward to seeing everyone back on 2 January (Friday) at 7:40am.

We will begin the day with Morning Assembly at ISH, followed by our Back to School (BTS) Programme, which is designed to help students reconnect, refocus, and prepare for the term ahead through a series of engaging activities and sessions.

Please check your email on 30 Dec (Tues) for your cohort BTS programme by your Head of Year. 


Points to note: 

1) HBL starts from T1W3

2) Starting from T1W1, reporting time to school every Wednesday is 8am. (NEW)


We look forward to a wonderful start to the term and an exciting journey ahead for all our students.

Nomination: President’s Award for Teachers (PAT) 2026 - closing date: 9 Jan 2026 (12pm)

The President's Award for Teachers (PAT) gives national recognition to the critical role that teachers play in moulding the future of our nation. It pays tribute to excellent teachers who, through words and deeds, inspire both their students and peers. 

PAT is open to teachers presently in service at a primary school, secondary school, Junior College/Millennia Institute, Polytechnic, Institute of Technical Education, or National Institute of Early Childhood Development.

[All] Bulky Waste to Wonder - Call for Votes

Our SST team — Gedeon Koh, Yoshioka Lili, and Arnab Ghosh — has once again made it to the Finals of Bulky Waste to Wonder 2025!

Their project, “Repurposing an L-shaped Workstation Table into a Community SocialSpace Table,” showcases how creativity and sustainability can transform the everyday into something meaningful.

This is our third consecutive year in the finals, and your support has always made a huge difference — from a 4th place finish to a victory last year!

[S1, S2, S3] GCE O-Level Biology Practical Exam on 14 Oct 2025

 Dear S1, S2 and S3 students,

  • Please be informed that the Secondary 4 students will be taking their GCE O-Level Biology Practical Examination tomorrow, 14 Oct (Tue).
  • The exam venues are Biology Labs and Chemistry Labs in Block C, Level 1. As such, the area outside these labs are Out of Bounds to ALL students. Do not walk into this area.
  • In addition, 2 sets of staircase are also Out of Bounds. Please use the staircase next to the walkway to MPH or the staircase next to the canteen. See the layout of Block C Level 1 below.

  • Other Out of Bounds areas in Block C are Level 2 (outside Phy Labs) and Level 3 (outside Seminar Room). Area outside Seminar Room is Out of Bounds from 9.50 am.
  • S2 students who are using LT, LO1 and LO2, please use the toilets next to Staircase 1C.

  • Please keep noise level down when you are having your break. The timings for the Practical Exam and breaks is shown below:
If you come across areas OR staircases that are cordoned off, please take an alternative route.

The End-of-Year Exam ended on 8 Oct for all three levels of students.

[S3 HMTL Students] 2025 GCE O-Level MTL Exam Matters

Dear Sec 3 HMTL students

Your GCE O-Level Year-End Mother-Tongue Written Exam will take place on 5 November 2025 (Wednesday).

The SEATING PLAN and your SEAT NUMBER can be found in the link below:
Sec 3 HMTL ] - Click on the link in Column K of the tab "📍 [ SCHEDULE & VENUES ]" to access the seating plan and seat number for the respective papers.

Students with approved Access Arrangements will receive an email from the Presiding Examiner, Mr Seth Tan by the end of the day.

The O-Level briefing slides to candidates (for Sec 3 HMTL students) are also attached for your reference.  

Please read and note the following points before your examination.

THINGS TO NOTE:
1. REPORTING TIME
- Candidates are to report at least 40 min BEFORE the start of the exam paper at the exam assembly venue.


2. ASSEMBLY VENUE/ SEAT NUMBER AND SEATING PLAN 
- Refer to your seat number and seating plan in this spreadsheet BEFORE the exam day.
- For Paper conducted at Blk D: Assemble at ISH (Sit according to the row number card placed on the floor). Bags to be placed 
INSIDE, AT THE FRONT OR BACK of the hall.
- For Paper conducted at Blk B or C: Assemble 
OUTSIDE the exam venue. Bags should be placed OUTSIDE of the Exam Room.


3. THINGS TO BRING 
ENTRY PROOF and NRIC. 
- All required exam stationery and equipment, approved calculators, approved dictionaries or e-dictionaries.
- Calculators and e-dictionaries model 
MUST be visible on your calculator or dictionaries. Bring extra batteries/ calculators/ e-dictionaries. NO EXTRA BATTERIES will be provided.
- OPTIONAL ITEMS: Water bottles, SST Jackets (ONLY).


4. ATTIRE AND PERSONAL GROOMING 
- Check your grooming (attire, hair, nails, etc). 
- SST uniform and S&W attire are allowed. 
SST Jacket (ONLY) (Optional).


5. TO ENSURE EXAM RULES AND REGULATIONS ARE NOT COMPROMISED 
SWITCH OFF all electronic devices, e.g. handphones, and put them in your bag before reporting at the Exam/ Assembly venue. 
- Check that there are no slips of paper or notes in your pockets or jacket pockets. EMPTY your pockets before reporting to the Exam/ Assembly venue. 
- Ensure that your calculator covers are kept in your bag before reporting to the exam venue. 
- Jackets will be subjected to random checks. Ensure that all pockets are empty before entering exam venues.

6. SELF-CARE 
- Visit the toilet BEFORE reporting at the Exam/ Assembly venue 
- Fill your water bottles, if needed, BEFORE reporting to the Exam/ Assembly venue.

7. OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE 
- Write your FULL name, O-Level Index Number (Not your class register number) on EVERY piece of writing paper you use during exam.
- Write your
 FULL name, O-Level Index Number (Not your class register number) DURING the given exam duration, NOT after the end of the paper. Please do not test the system.
- Use a black or dark blue ball-point pen for all your examinations. 
- FOLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE EXAM PERSONNEL / INVIGILATORS STRICTLY.

Important Update: Changes to General Office Operating Hours


Dear Students

We wish to inform you of the following changes in our school General Office
Operating Hours that will be implemented with effect from Monday, 13 Oct 2025:

1) The General Office will operate at 8.00 am instead of 7.00 am on Mondays and
Thursdays.

2) During school holidays and HBL days, our General Office will be closed during
lunch time from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm.

A snapshot of the changes is highlighted in the table below.

These adjustments will allow us to streamline our administrative processes and
better support school operations.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we implement these changes.
