National Day Commemoration (31 July to 9 August)

Dear students, 


SST will be celebrating Singapore’s 59th Birthday, next Thursday on 8th August. 


The theme for 2024's National Day Celebrations is: “Together, as One United People”. 




Do note that although 8th August is an Odd Week Thursday, it will NOT be a HBL day or late day. The reporting time and dismissal time will be as follows: 

  • Reporting time: 7.40am

  • Dismissal time: 10.30am


Be part of the celebrations and come in the colours of our national flag (red/white).


Please be mindful of the Dos and Dont’s by referring to the SST Attire and Grooming guidelines and the following: 


  • Strictly no mixing of attires [either school uniform , S&W attire  OR home clothes (eg: red/white tops with jeans/berms)

  • Covered shoes

National Day Commemoration (31st July-8th Aug): The SST Way

Dear students,


In line with the school's unique DNA of Applied Learning, where the activities are school community-focused, active and relevant. The theme of Onward As One allows SSTudents and SSTaff to be reflective and forward thinking in sharing our aspirations for the nation, whilst recalling the events in our history that have made us progressive for the future.

SYF x NDP Stronger Together! Showcase by SST students

Dear students, 

As part of NDP 2020, the #SYFstrongerTogether Project aims to unite youths in expressing their hopes and aspirations for Singapore as we celebrate our National Day. 

At the start of this term, SST students spent time during CCE lesson reflecting on how they overcame challenges as individuals and as a family and expressed messages of hope and resilience to encourage others in celebration of our nation’s 55th birthday through writing and/or drawing. 

We are pleased to inform you that the artwork of some of our students' is being showcased as part of the Online Interactive Artwork #SYFstrongerTogether Project.

National Day Programme (Fri 7th Aug)

As part of the National Day 2020 celebrations on Friday (7th Aug), a series of activities has been arranged.  Please find the timeline of the programme below:

As part of the celebrations, all students are highly encouraged to wear red & white clothing.  For students, please take note of the following dressing guidelines:


  • Students are encouraged to be dressed in Red &/White attire

  • Attire should still adhere to the fundamental philosophy of the SST Student Code of Conduct and uphold the dignity of both the SST student and the school.

  • Please remember the usual rules of decency and apply in the choice of your outfit.  As such, revealing clothes and clothes with objectionable/ offensive text/prints should not be worn.

  • Students are required to wear covered shoes.

  • Students who do not wish to come in red and white can choose to don the full school uniform and are reminded to not be in half uniform. e.g. S&W and school pants, Red t-shirt with school pants

  • Please note that for S&W lessons, students will have to change into appropriate S&W attire.

National Day Celebrations

The attire for National Day Celebrations in school will be as follows:

S1 & S2: S&W Attire
S3 & S4: Red / White top with jeans or bermudas with covered shoes

Please be reminded to bring along your reading materials for the reading period.

Programme for S1-3 should end around 1030hrs. For S4, it will depend on your learning journey.

2017 National Day Celebration@SST (8 August)

Dear SST students

We will be celebrating Singapore’s 52nd birthday in SST.

Here are the details of the celebration:

  1. Day/Date: Tuesday, 8 August 2017
  2. Reporting Time: Before 7.40 a.m. (Morning Assembly)
  3. Dismissal Time: 10.45 a.m.
  4. Venue: ISH
  5. Attire: SST School Uniform
  6. Things to bring: Learning Device (fully charged)

Please remember to assemble in the SBOR position.
We will confirm the position during the Dry-Run on Monday 7th August during CE Lesson from 1.40 - 2.30 p.m. at ISH.

Do take note that SST Canteen and Café will be open on 8 August 2017.

National Day 2016 Activity

Dear students,


In conjunction of our National Day 2016 theme, SG 51, Building our Singapore of Tomorrow”, which seeks to galvanise and unite Singaporeans in the next chapter of nation-building, we invite all of you to view our exhibit in our infohub where your peers construct what the futuristic transport system would be like as well as acknowledging the works of our founding fathers.


Come and Join us at the InfoHub for a hive of mini activities such as :

1. reciting our national pledge in different languages such as Chinese, Tamil, French, Bengali;
2. arranging the jigsaw puzzle of the flag within the shortest time
3. online quiz on our national anthem

Daily prizes will be given out for correct answers.
Do drop by and our NE Ambassadors who are on duties will be there to assist you.

Best Model of Future Singapore

2015 National Day Celebration@SST (6th August ) - Information for Students

Dear SST students,

Here is the programme for 6th August.  As this is a school programme, attendance is compulsory.

Attire for the day:
  • Sec 1s : S&W attire
  • Sec 2s, 3s & 4s : Red &/ White top with long jeans.  Otherwise, you can choose to come in full school uniform.

Sale of complete set of NDP songs on 2 CDs featuring original artists

Over the years, many of the past National Day Theme Songs have been lost or unpublished. As a gift to Singapore's jubilee birthday, Music & Movement has compiled this album that features the original versions of 27 National Day Parade Theme songs performed by the original artists like Stefanie Sun, JJ Lin, Kit Chan, Dick Lee, Mavis Hee, Tanya Chua, Corrinne May, Taufik, Olivia Ong, Rui En, Electrico, Joi Chua, Hady Mirza, Kevin Tan, Clement Chow  and many more.

Some interesting features:
  • The first complete collector’s item on a 2 CD set
  • Features messages from many of the performers and writers of the songs featured
  • CD remastered from original recordings from the private collection of the producers and
    singers of the songs as well as Artistic Directors of past National Day Parades. 
  • Project is strongly supported by MCCY and COMPASS
Price : S$17.15 inclusive GST per set.

A portion of the sales will go to the Sing50 Fund, a private initiative managed by The RICE Company and supported by The Straits Times and The Business Times, that aims to promote Singaporean Pop Music talents in schools. The fund will also be tapped on to fund outreach programmes of Sing50, such as arranging for piano trainers, concerts and the Singapore Song Competition.

2014 National Day Celebration@SST (8th August Programme)

Dear SST Students,

On 8th August 2014, SST will be celebrating Singapore's 49th Birthday.  PforSST with SST NE Team has planned an interesting programme for you.

You are strongly encouraged to dress appropriately in Red &/White top with S&W shorts. Otherwise, you may come in full school uniform. Please do not mix your school pants/culottes with a red/white t-shirt.

Do look out for National Day slides & songs being played in school.  It will help you in various activities.  Good luck!

Please report for morning assembly (before 7.40 a.m.) at ISH.  We will end at 11 a.m.
