Support SST C Division Soccer!

On the 24th of Feb, at 4.30 PM, SST C division soccer will be playing defending champions Jurongville Secondary School. Our soccer team would really like our SST students go down to Jurongville Secondary School to cheer them on because this may determine if they win or lose the match. If they win it, they will qualify for the west zones, which means a lot to them.

Here are the directions to Jurongville Secondary School:

1. Walk to the bus stop opposite school and take 185
2. Drop off 11 stops later, or when you reach a stop named 'Blk 490, Jurong West Avenue 1'.
3. You will see Jurong Poly opposite the bus stop.
4. Go in the direction of the bus of which you just alighted.
5. After you pass Jurong Poly, you will see a footsal area, cross the road there and follow the road towards the footsal place.
6. Jurongville sec would now be in your view.
7. Walk to jurongville and say at the security guard post that you will be there to spectate the match.

Dear Secondary 1 Students

The School Smart Cards (SSC) will be delivered to the school between 9 Feb to 6 Mar 2015 to meet the expiry deadline on the use of the primary level SSC by the Secondary One students on 30 April 2015.

You are required to activate your card at the TransitLink Ticket Office/TransitLink Concession Card Replacement Centre/Passenger Services Centres at the MRT/Bus Interchanges by topping-up the value for the card before the SSC can be used for concessionary travel. The minimum top-up value is $5.

While waiting for the new Secondary level SSC to be ready, you can continue using your Primary level SSC for concessionary travel till April 2015. You can still purchase the Bus Concession Pass (BCP) using your Primary level SSC but you would need to purchase the BCP for Secondary School students.

Total Defence Day Interclass Digital Photo Collage Competition

Dear SST Students

Our school will be commemorating Total Defence Day on 13th February 2015 to mark Singapore's fall to the Japanese in 1942 during World War II. Total Defence Day serves to remind our students that Singapore is worth defending and we must be committed to defending our homeland.

Total Defence is founded on the pillars of the military, civilians, economy, social spirit and psychology. Through the activities we have lined up for Total Defence Day, we aim for the students to understand the rationale behind and value of Total Defence as the cornerstone of Singapore's deterrent strategy.

The NE Committee has planned an Interclass Digital Photo Collage Competition for all of you.

Below is the details of the competition for your perusal.

Deadline for submission: Wednesday 11th February 2015, 3pm.
Do contact Ms Huang (Lower Sec) or Ms Wong (Upper Sec) if you need further clarifications.

PforSST Badminton

Dear Students
On behalf of PforSST, please inform your parents of the activity organised by PforSST for parent and child bonding.

Dear Parents
PforSST would like to invite all fathers and child for a monthly badminton session in SST. Let's all gather for another round of Badminton under the Father@School programme. As you are aware, the aim is to create an opportunity for fathers and child to bond and to have fun with them.

This is a time where families come together to build a village of families to build a greater nation in today's society. Hence, invitation also goes out to the immediate family members as well.

Badminton game by itself gives every individual an opportunity to exercise and sharpen our alertness and agility. Preparing every individual for a harmonized lifestyle that should not be missed out, more so when studies and work can be a heavy load to carry. Additionally sporting activities is one good way to get parents and the young ladies and gentlemen away from the screen activities.

"PforSST Badminton" is one of the great sporting activities to welcome the New Year 2015, for both, the students of SST and their family. Believing that every individual is unique and need every form of exercise to strengthen ourselves physically and then expound intellectually in class at school, every family should appreciate one another and find the importance of making time for bonding, caring and loving one another.

PforSST Badminton Session for all families "A family sport, A time of bonding and An individual challenge".
Location: SST Multi-Purpose Hall
Date: 07 Feb 2015
Time: 9:00 am to 11:00 am
