S.U.R.E Specialist by NLB (Info Hub Programme)

Dear Students,

Come and be a SURE Specialist by completing 10 tasks* (Info/Media Literacy Skills)and you can even use this for your NYAA Skills component**. Members need to only attend an introductory workshop conducted by NLB in SST Info Hub (Date to be confirmed, but should be after SA1). After the workshop, you can work at your own pace to complete the tasks over a period of 6 months and submit your work to Info Hub.

You can register your interest with the School Librarian, Mdm Julie, over the counter or you can email the completed registration form to juliana_kamis@sst.edu.sg. Download the form here.
All completed tasks have to be submitted by 18 September 2015.





** to achieve the awards under this category, you need to be above 14 years and skills have to be gained over a period of six months

New Policy in Info Hub - No bags allowed

Dear Students



With effect from 13 April 2015, no bags are allowed in the Info Hub. Students are encourage to either use their locker for their valuables or leave their bags on the shelves provided outside the Info Hub @ Level 4. Leave your learning devices in your class lockers. Bring only what is required. Info Hub is not liable for any loss or theft of your valuables.

NTIL Examination Candidates


All students taking the Non-Tamil Indian Languages (NTIL) Examinations this Saturday are excused from CCA this Friday. Please inform your CCA teachers that you are taking the paper and give them the Entry Proof next week for filing. Otherwise, it will be treated as a case of absence from training. Please inform all your friends who are taking the above-mention exam.

Student Leaders' Investiture on 17 April 2015 (Fri)

The Student Leaders’ Investiture will be held on 17 Apr (Fri) in the MPH. It marks the formal installation of student leaders into their various leadership positions. 

All investees would need to attend the following:
  • 1st Rehearsal: 8 April 2015 (Wed), 2.30 pm to 5 pm
    • Students report to MPH in school uniform
  • Final Rehearsal: 15 April 2015 (Wed), 2.30 pm to 5 pm
    • Students report to MPH in school uniform
  • Event Day: 17 April 2015 (Fri) 10.30 am to 12.45 pm 
    • Student organisers to be excused from class at 9.15 am
    • Investees to be excused from class at 9.30 am
    • Sec 3 and 4 students to report to MPH at 10.15 am
The rehearsals are important for investees to familiarise themselves with the event flow, and attendance is important.

2015 International Friendship Week@SST

Dear SST students,

On Friday, 10th April, Singapore will be commemorating International Friendship Day.  As an academic institution, SST has embarked on a week-long activities focusing on awareness, reflection and sharing.  Below is a list of activities, organized by NE Committee.  Do join us at Google+ Communities link.

Class NE Representatives, you are strongly encouraged to upload these information to your class blog.

1.  Monday, 6th April
-  All of you have received a complimentary copy from The Straits Times.  Do spend time reading, especially articles on International Friendship Day.

2.  Tuesday, 7th April till Friday, 10th April
- Static Display with related resources on International Friendship Day are available in InfoHub.  All are welcome to view the exhibits.

3.  Tuesday, 7th April & Wednesday, 8th April
-  Games Booth will be set up and managed by our NE Representatives & International students.  It will be during recess time.  Do come over and have fun completing puzzles.  Small tokens are given to winners of the competitions.

4.  Tuesday, 7th April & Wednesday, 8th April
-  Do come over to our Photo Booth corner during recess time.  Have fun &  snap photos with the self-made props done by our NE Representatives & International students.

5.  Thursday, 9th April
-  Our canteen stall owners also joined us in the celebration.  There will be mini bazaar of International Food, prepared by our canteen vendors at a reasonable price.  Do enjoy the food!

- Morning Assembly : S405 would be sharing on International Friendship for their presentation in 'Our World Our Views'.

2015 Classroom Climate Survey

The 2015 Classroom Climate Survey on Tuesday to Thursday, during morning assembly slot, 0740 - 0805.

Students will observe national symbols in the classrooms with their FTs.

Students are required to bring their LDs. They are to login to Student Google site and access the survey forms there.

arrangements for a BOOK SALE in the Atrium today (1 April 2015) and tomorrow (2 April 2015) from recess time to about 2:45 p.m. in the afternoon. 

Look out for fiction, non fiction, self development, self help books, business  books, children books and cook booksThere are also many best-sellers that are now priced around 50% off the bookstore retail price.
