Welcome Back to Term 3 – Reporting Details and Reminders for 30 June 2025

 Dear Students,

Welcome back to SST for Term 3!

We hope you had a restful June break and are ready to take on the new term with renewed focus and positivity. Let’s continue to uphold high standards in conduct, attire, and learning as we begin the new semester. 


Reporting Details – Monday, 30 June 2025

Please take note of the reporting time and venue for your level:

  • Sec 1, 3 and 4: Report to the Indoor Sports Hall (ISH) by 8:40 a.m.

  • Sec 2: Report to the Auditorium by 8:40 a.m.

Students should report in full school uniform if they do not have Sport & Wellness (S&W) lessons before recess.
Gentlemen must be in long pants as part of the full school uniform.


Termly Attire and Grooming Check

The attire and grooming check will be conducted as follows:

  • Sec 1, 3 and 4: After morning assembly on Monday, 30 June

  • Sec 2: At assembly on Wednesday, 2 July, 1240 p.m.

Key Guidelines to Note

General

  • Uniforms must be clean, neatly ironed, and free of damage.

  • Replace items that are too tight, short, or faded.

Male Students

  • Hair must be short, neat, and combed.

  • Clean-shaven (no facial hair such as moustaches or long sideburns).

  • Polo shirts must be tucked in; belts (if worn) must be plain black with simple buckles.

  • Long pants are required as part of the full school uniform.

Female Students

  • Long hair must be tied up neatly.

  • Use simple black accessories (e.g., clips or bands).

  • Long fringe must be clipped back.

  • Fingernails must be clean, short, and unvarnished.

  • Bring a rag for classroom cleaning.

  • Bring a book for silent reading.

Gentle Reminders for First day of the term

 Dear Students, 

Welcome back to SST for Semester Two of 2024!

This is a gentle reminder for all students to be appropriately attired and groomed when you report for school on Monday, 24th June 2024 (Monday). Your Form teacher(s) will conduct the attire and grooming check on the first day of the new term during the CCE period. 

Attire and Grooming Guidelines:

  • Attire worn must be clean and neatly pressed with no holes, tears, or frayed areas
  • Kindly also replace your uniform if they are too small and/or short, or they have become too faded
  • Male Students
    • Hair must be short and neatly combed
    • Clean-shaven (not allowed to keep facial hair such as beards, long sideburns, or moustaches)
    • Must tuck in their polo t-shirt and wear a belt if necessary.
    • Belts (if worn) must be in BLACK and plain without fancy patterns.
    • Buckles must only have simple designs and must be a manageable size.
  • Female Students
    • Hair that is shoulder length or longer must be tied up
    • Simple BLACK color hair accessories such as hair bands and hair clips may be worn
    • Long fringe should be clipped up
    • Fingernails must be kept clean, short, and unvarnished

First Day in school 2024 reminders

 Dear Students, 


Welcome back to SST in 2024!

A gentle reminder for all students to be appropriately attired and groomed when you report for school on 2nd Jan 2024 (Tuesday). 

The attire and grooming check will be conducted on Term 1 Week 1, Tuesday, 2nd Jan 2024 during the Form Teacher time in class:

         - Sec 2 and 3 (8 am) 

         - Sec 4 (9.40 am)


Attire and Grooming Guidelines:


  • Attire worn must be clean and neatly pressed with no holes, tears, or frayed areas
  • Kindly also replace your uniform if they are too small and/or short, or they have become too faded
  • Male Students
    • Hair must be short and neatly combed
    • Clean-shaven (not allowed to keep facial hair such as beards, long side burns or moustaches)
    • Must tuck in their polo t-shirt and wear a belt if necessary.
    • Belts (if worn) must be in BLACK color and must be plain without fancy patterns.
    • Buckles must only have simple designs and must not be too large.
  • Female Students
    • Hair that is shoulder length or longer must be tied up
    • Simple BLACK color hair accessories such as hair bands, and hair clips may be worn

Welcome back to SST 2023!

 Dear students, 

Welcome back to SST in 2023! 


We hope that you have had a good break and are looking forward to seeing your friends and teachers back in school! :) 


We have planned class-based bonding activities and organised talks to support you in your transition back to school.  


  • Secondary One : Orientation Programme

  • Secondary Two to Four : Welcome Back to School Programme

 

On the first day of school, 3 January 2023, Tuesday, please report to the Indoor Sports Hall (ISH) by 0740 when you arrive in school. 


Here are some useful information and usual reminders to help you prepare for your return to school. 


Preparing for the School

  • A lock to secure your locker
  • Hand sanitiser / Wet wipes
  • book for reading.

2. Attire and Grooming 

  • A gentle reminder for all students to be appropriately attired in your school uniform and groomed when you report for school.

  • Attire for first day of school
    • Secondary One: S & W attire
    • Secondary Two: S & W attire
    • Secondary Three: Full School Uniform

3. Your Journey to School

  • You are advised to set off earlier than usual from home for school. 
  • When commuting to school on public transport, you are advised to practice good hygiene by sanitising your hands after touching surfaces like handrails. 

4. Safe Management Measures in School


All students are expected to play their part as a responsible member of the SST community by complying with the Safe Management Measures. 


Social Responsibility: 

  • Remain at home if you are feeling unwell or have a positive ART result and seek medical advice. 
  • Check and monitor your own temperature daily. 


5. Practising Good Hygiene Upon Arrival in School 

  • Wash hands with soap and water or clean hands with hand sanitiser.
  • Report directly to your classroom. 
  • Wipe down your desk area.
  • Wash hands with soap and water or clean hands with hand sanitiser after wipe-down.

Welcome back to Term 4, 2022!

 Dear students, 

Welcome back to SST in  Term 4, 2022! 


We hope that you have had a good break and are looking forward to seeing your friends and teachers back in school! :) 


Do note that the morning assembly for T4W1 for Secondary 1 - 3 will be held in the ISH.

 i.e. Assembly in the ISH for the whole week. 

 

We will be having Assembly talk series in Week 1 from 0845 - 0900 on 12th Sept and 0745 - 0800hrs from 13th  - 16th Sept 2022. We hope to equip you with practical strategies to support yourself mentally and emotionally, as you face various challenges e.g. exam anxiety, peer-to-peer relationships.

Welcome back to Term 3, 2021!

Dear students, 


Welcome back to SST in Jun 2021! We hope that you have had a good break!


Here are some reminders for your preparation to school reopening:


1. Reporting for school:


  • Secondary 1 students will continue to be on Full Home-based Learning from 28th June 2021 (Monday) to 30th June 2021 (Wednesday) and will report back to school on 1st July 2021 (Thursday).
  • Secondary 2 students will continue to be on Full Home-based Learning from 28th June 2021 (Monday) to 30th June 2021 (Wednesday) followed by Home-based Learning on 1st July 2021 (Thursday) and will report back school on 2nd July 2021 (Friday).
  • Secondary 3 and 4 students will report back school on 28 Jun 2021, (Monday) at 8.40am.
  • Students reporting back to school are to proceed directly to their classrooms upon arrival in school. 


2. Things to pack: 

  • Bring your own kit (see list below) and avoid sharing essential items to prevent cross-contamination.

    • Face Mask

    • Reusable bag (eg. a plastic “sandwich” bag or paper bag) to store your mask and/or face-shield for hygiene purposes. Label your name and class on your reusable bag.

    • Oral Digital Thermometer

    • Hand sanitiser

    • Wet wipes

    • A box of tissue paper for wiping down of your learning area(s)

  • Students are reminded to bring a book to read during the morning reading period.

  • Students are reminded to be appropriately attired and groomed according to the guidelines outlined in the SST Code of Conduct when they report back to school. 


4. Safe Management Measures in School


All students are expected to play their part as a responsible member of the SST community by complying with the Safe Management Measures:

  • Remain at home if you are feeling unwell and seek medical advice. 

  • DO NOT come to school if you are on Leave of Absence (LOA), Stay Home Notice (SHN), Home Quarantine Order (HQO) and Approved Absence (AA). 

  • DO NOT come to school even if you are well but one of your adult household members (18 years old and above) shows flu-like symptoms. Please have your parents inform your form teacher or contact the General Office when this situation arises. 

  • Check and monitor your own temperature daily. 


5.  Maintaining a Safe Distance at All Times

  • Abide by all social distancing measures when commuting between home and school

  • If you take the MRT to school, you are encouraged to walk to and from Dover MRT station and especially from SST to Dover MRT station to school if the weather permits to avoid crowding at the bus-stop. 

  • Maintain social distancing from others at the school gate when entering and leaving the school. 

  • When buying food, obey queue markers on the floor of the canteen for safe distancing. You are encouraged to join the queue that is cleared faster. 

  • To facilitate the quick clearance of queues, most canteen stalls will be offering a fixed standard menu on a pick-and-go basis. You are advised to plan ahead so as to avoid browsing to see what is being offered by each stall.  

  • Keep your mask on and do not talk when you are eating during recess. Put on your mask as soon as you have finished eating.

  • Report directly to your classroom. 

  • No playing of sport games (free/ unstructured play/ structured) or board games.

[S2/S3/S4] Welcome back to SST in 2021!

 Dear students, 


Welcome back to SST in 2021! We hope that you have had a good break and are looking forward to seeing your friends and teachers back in school! :) 


As you adjust to a new normal in school, here are some reminders when you report to school on 4 Jan 2021 at 8.40am.


Preparing for the School


1. Your Journey to School

  • You are advised to set off earlier than usual from home for school as you may encounter delays due to safe distancing measures on public transport and safe management measures by the school when you arrive. 

  • Please familiarise yourself with the safe measurement measures on the buses and trains if you are taking public transport. 

2. Things to pack: 

  • Bring your own kit (see list below) and avoid sharing essential items to prevent cross-contamination.

    • Face Mask

    • Reusable bag (eg. a plastic “sandwich” bag or paper bag) to store your mask and/or face-shield for hygiene purposes. Label your name and class on your reusable bag.
