Lesson Arrangements in Term 3 Week 3: 14 July - 18 July

Dear Sec 1s - Sec 4s,

Please be informed that the GCE O-Level Oral Examinations will be taking place during Week 3 from 14 July - 18 July. In order to provide a conducive environment for the exam candidates, there are some updates for you to take note of:

14 July (Mon)
  • School dismissal will be at 2pm. 
  • TDP and SSP sessions will continue as scheduled.
15 July (Tues) - 17 July (Thursday)
  • There will be HBL for ALL students.
For Sec 1s - Sec 3s,
  • Subjects involved will follow the usual timetable on 15-16 July
  • Lessons on 17 July (Odd Thursday) will follow the usual HBL arrangements
  • Learning will either be synchronous or asynchronous. 
  • Your subject teachers will inform you of the lesson arrangements. 
  • Sec 3 HMTL students who are involved in GCE O-Level Oral Examinations will have to report to school.
For Sec 4s, 
  • Subjects involved will follow the usual timetable on 15 July - 17 July. 
  • Learning will either be synchronous or asynchronous. 
  • Your subject teachers will inform you of the lesson arrangements. 
  • Sec 4 students who are involved in GCE O-Level Oral Examinations and Applied Subjects Coursework will have to report to school.
18 July (Friday)
  • Lessons will be as usual on 18 July.


Reminders about the use of ISH/ MPH (Block D)/ School Field
  • Exams will be held at the ISH/MPH area, please DO NOT go to that area to ensure exam integrity.
  • Do not use the field during the exam timing so that your peers can have a conducive environment for the exam.
  • Do not come back to school during the HBL days unless you have sought permission from the Teacher-IC.

SPM and Career Day (29 May)

 Dear students, kindly inform your parents that there will be a School Parent Meeting on 29 May 2025 from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. Students are expected to come with their parents on that day. Students are to be attired in the SST school uniform on that day. S2 - S4 students are expected to attend the Career Day @ MPH on that day also. Thank you.

[S1, S2, S3, S4] (T2W9) THU 22 May - Lesson Arrangements (no HBL)

Dear Sec 1s to Sec 4s,

Please be informed that there will be LESSONS AS USUAL in school on ODD Thursday, 22 May 2025 in Week 9.
  • In view of the shortened school day on 2 May 2025 (Friday) and school holiday on 5 May 2025 (Monday), HBL for Sec 1s to Sec 3s on 22 May 2025 (Thursday) will be cancelled.
  • All levels will follow the EVEN Monday timetable for the lessons till 1400. 
  • There will be a SUTD Basic Ethics Programme for Sec 3 students from 1400 to 1600.
  • There will be MTL/ HMTL lessons for Sec 4 from 1400 to 1500.

Arrangement on 29 April 2025 in support of Rally

Dear Students

Please be informed that SST will be used as a rally site on the evening of 29 April. Preparation work will begin this evening.

When you arrive at school in the morning (29 April), barricades will be set up from Gate B and Gate C leading to the field. There will be designated openings to allow access for your usual daily routines.

By 5.30 pm, all openings will be sealed, including access in and out of the car park.

Please leave as soon as possible after your lesson, latest by 5.30pm. The exit point nearer to 5.30 pm is via the staircase next to the General Office.

If your parents are picking you up, please alert them of the above arrangements, and that 1 Technology Drive will not be accessible from 5.30 pm.

[S1, S2, S3, S4] - Updates to School Schedule in view of Polling Day

Dear Sec 1s - Sec 4s,

With the announcement of the upcoming General Election where Polling Day will be held on Saturday, 3 May 2025, we will be adjusting the school schedule to facilitate the use of the school compounds on the eve of Polling Day.

School Hours on Friday, 2 May 2025

You will report to school in the morning by 0740 and take your Class Test according to the schedule below. You will be dismissed at the end of the Class Test. There will not be afternoon activities including CCAs. 

As the stalls in the canteen will not be in operation, you are encouraged to take a heavier breakfast before coming to school in the morning.

School Holiday on Monday, 5 May 2025

As Polling Day is a public holiday and falls on a Saturday, the following Monday, 5 May 2025, will be a school holiday. You will return to school for lessons on 6 May 2025, Tuesday.

Reporting time & other Instructions

  • Students must be properly attired in FULL SST uniform and grooming (i.e. hair colour, length, appearance) must adhere to the school’s standards. 

  • Students who do not meet the attire and grooming rules will be directed to the Visitor's Center, where they will obtain their results and certificate at that venue at a later timing. 

  • You will be allowed entry into SST from 12.40 p.m. onwards. 

  • Please bring along your NRIC/Passport/Birth Certificate/Student Pass for identification purposes if you are collecting your results on that day. 

  • Please refer to the SST Student Blog or your SST email for more information and details.


Students collecting their GCE O-Level results arriving later than 3.30 p.m. but before 5.00 p.m.

  Students are to collect their result slip and certificate from the General Office.

  • Students must present their NRIC/Passport/Birth Certificate/Student Pass to the staff member at the General Office for verification.


For students who are unable to collect their GCE O-level result slips on 10 January 2025

  • Students can also appoint a proxy to collect the physical copy of their result slip and certificate on their behalf.

  • Proxy may collect the result slip and certificate from the General Office from 10 January, 3.30 p.m. onwards. Proxy is required to present the following documents to the staff member at the General Office before he/she is able to collect the result slip.

 Proxy’s original NRIC

  • Result slip and certificate must be collected from the General Office latest by the next working day on Monday,13 January 2025, 5.00 p.m.

  • Students are to contact 65717-200 (during office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) for assistance if they are unable to appoint a proxy. 

  • Here are some references that you may find helpful in guiding you to make an informed decision for your next phase of education. 



Additional Information for Parents 

If you are accompanying your child and you are driving, we seek your cooperation to park at the following HDB carparks and enter the school via Gate B (near the zebra crossing) or Gate C (near the bus stop). There will be strictly no parking of cars within the school compound as it is a school day.


Kindly proceed to the Atrium where chairs will be provided for you while waiting for your child.

First Day of School
On the first day of school, Thursday, 2 January 2025, please report to the Indoor Sports Hall (ISH) by 7:40 a.m.

Attire and Grooming Reminder
Please ensure you are appropriately attired and groomed when you report to school. Your form teachers will conduct an attire and grooming check during the CCE period on the first day of the term.

Attire and Grooming Guidelines

  • General

    • Uniforms must be clean, neatly pressed, and free of holes, tears, or frayed areas.
    • Replace uniforms if they are too small, short, or faded.
  • Male Students

    • Hair must be short, neat, and combed.
    • Clean-shaven (no facial hair such as beards, moustaches, or long sideburns).
    • Polo T-shirts must be tucked in, and belts (if worn) must be plain black, with simple, appropriately sized buckles.
  • Female Students

    • Hair that is shoulder-length or longer must be tied up.
    • Simple black hair accessories (e.g., bands or clips) may be used.
    • Long fringe must be clipped back.
    • Fingernails must be clean, short, and unvarnished.

Gentle Reminders for First day of the term

 Dear Students, 

Welcome back to SST for Semester Two of 2024!

This is a gentle reminder for all students to be appropriately attired and groomed when you report for school on Monday, 24th June 2024 (Monday). Your Form teacher(s) will conduct the attire and grooming check on the first day of the new term during the CCE period. 

Attire and Grooming Guidelines:

  • Attire worn must be clean and neatly pressed with no holes, tears, or frayed areas
  • Kindly also replace your uniform if they are too small and/or short, or they have become too faded
  • Male Students
    • Hair must be short and neatly combed
    • Clean-shaven (not allowed to keep facial hair such as beards, long sideburns, or moustaches)
    • Must tuck in their polo t-shirt and wear a belt if necessary.
    • Belts (if worn) must be in BLACK and plain without fancy patterns.
    • Buckles must only have simple designs and must be a manageable size.

In collaboration with ✨ Buona Vista Youth Network ✨, they’re conducting a dry run of their beginners’ Python programming workshop “Art of Code”, and they want your 🫵 participation! As a participant, you’ll learn Python programming in more depth than in lower-secondary ICT while providing feedback about the session.

Make your June holiday productive 🚀 and choose from

🗓️ Two date ranges: 12–14 June (Wed–Fri, 3 days) OR 11–14 June (Tue–Fri, 4 days)

SST Debate Interest Group

Dear Students, 

This announcement will provide you details on the SST Debate Interest Group. 

The club aims to foster a culture of intellectual discourse and debate among students and promote an environment where students are able to express their views on societal issues from various viewpoints. Additionally, we aim to develop quick-thinking skills in students to articulate accurate responses on the spot.

Participation in the Debate Club complements academic learning by providing practical opportunities for students to refine the skills they learn in the classroom and apply them in a real-world context.

Short-term goals
  • Establish a dedicated core team of students passionate about debate
  • Compete in local debate competitions to gain experience and recognition
  • Hold weekly debate sessions and workshops to ensure continuous skill development
Long-term goals
  • Collaborate in the facilitation of Student Congress
  • Overtake the facilitation of SSTMUN
  • Collaborate with other schools for joint training sessions
  • Establish a mentorship programme for seniors and alumni to come back to provide guidance and support to junior debaters, ensuring the club’s sustainability and growth
  • Invite external vendors and speakers to facilitate sessions and provide insight on debates, further improving the debate skills of students

Dismissal Time for Student Leaders' Investiture (4 Mar 2024)

The 2024 Student Leaders' Investiture will take place on Monday, 4 March 2024 in the Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH). It is the time of the year where we formally recognise students who will take on leadership roles in the school community to develop themselves.

The occasion also symbolically marks the time where Secondary 4 student leaders will hand over the torch to the Secondary 3 student leaders, having spent the time and effort nurturing them in the past year.

As such, Upper Secondary students will attend the event as an audience. Snacks will be provided after the event.

Attire for the audience will be formal school attire. Gentlemen please remember to come in your long pants.

CCE Lessons on 4th Mar will follow this plan:

(Early dismissal at 1440, Parents will be informed via PG)

We have invited Prof Ben Leong to SST for an interactive face-to-face session with you on 
29 February 2024, 10.40 – 11.20 a.m. at the Visitor Centre. 


Prof Ben Leong teaches Computer Science at the School of Computer in NUS and is well-known for his life-inspiring and witty comments. He is approachable and friendly, and has a knack for simplifying abstract concepts to engage with his learners. His research interests are in the areas of computer networking and distributed systems. 


If you have burning questions on AI or other ICT-related issues, this will be an invaluable opportunity for you to engage with a prominent figure in the AI & ICT industry.
