[Parents] I Can't Live Without IT! - Engaging The IT & Smartphone Generation

This Parents' Engagement Programme takes place on the School-Parent Meeting (SPM) Day when you will be in SST to meet up with the Form Teacher and find out your child's progress in this semester. Mr Shem Yao, is the Senior Executive of TOUCH Cyber Wellness (TCW) will be the speaker of the talk. There is a growing prevalence of mobile gadget usage in Singapore. Pre-school toddlers are being nanny-ed with smart mobile devices. Primary school children are pressurising their parents to buy them a smartphone. And more than 90% of youths own a smartphone by the time they are 13 years old. 50% of them own at least two or more gadgets, such as a smartphone, laptop, tablet or portable audio device.

Be engaged by our experienced speaker and gain a better understanding of youths’ mobile habits, some of the mobile technology concerns and how to connect with them more effectively in this digital age. Practical tips, rules and guidelines to managing the child’s mobile usage will also be shared.

Upper Secondary Mid Year Post Exams Inter House Games (IHG)

Dear Sec 3 and 4,

All upper secondary students will be involved in Inter-House Games on the morning of 12 May 2017 (Friday). Students with medical excuses, please help us out with score-keeping and officiating.

Everyone, please come in SW attire and appropriate shoes, with your nails trimmed. During the games, please remove all watches and jewellery and empty your pockets. Kindly get plenty of sleep the night before and have a good breakfast as there isn't any fixed recess time that day. Students who are unwell or recovering from illness/injury, but who would still like to participate, are to declare the medical conditions to the teachers-in-charge before the start of first game. We expect school to end at 1pm that day. Please do not bring valuables that day as everyone will be too busy to take care of your belongings for you.

We look forward to an exciting sports carnival with you. Thank you.

Best Regards,
Mr Dennis Lam
