[S4 only] Instructional Programme (IP) Survey

Dear students,

The Instructional Programme (IP) Survey is conducted each year to give you the opportunity to share with the school your experience of the SST curriculum. Your feedback will help the school to review and enhance its curriculum.

This year, the IP Survey will be conducted on 22 Jul (Thu) and 23 Jul (Fri). You will be given time after flag raising to complete the survey.

In the morning of the two days, you will receive an information email indicating the subject(s) which you need to provide your feedback on. You would only be completing ONE/TWO survey(s) each day.

Your feedback is important to us and we want to hear from you. We hope you will provide honest and candid responses. Although your details are required, this is solely for tracking the completion of surveys. Your details will not be included when the survey results are generated for analysis.

Should you have any query, please do not hesitate to email Mr Koh Siak Peng (HOD/IP).

Staff Appreciation Week (SAW) 2021

 Dear SST Students,

The Peer Support Board is back with Staff Appreciation Week (SAW) 2021!

SAW is an annual tradition in SST where we seek to foster a positive culture through appreciating the numerous things the SST family does for each other on a daily basis, expressing our gratitude for our staff. As with tradition, one of the items during SAW will be a concert segment, so we seek your active support and participation.

This year's theme will be "An Attitude of Gratitude". The setting will be a 1980s reality show where the main media was still transitioning from black & white to colour television, and sitcoms were gradually growing in popularity. The segments during the actual day of SAW will be like a part of a television series called “SAW: The Thank You Show”.

This year’s SAW Concert will be held on 2nd Sept 2021 (T3W10 Thursday), and during this e-concert, you are able to participate either as a performer during a segment of the e-concert or a host!

With the intent to foster "an Attitude of Gratitude", the main idea of the SSTalent Show: FROM THE HE♡RT is for you, students, to come forward and display your talent to show your gratitude to the staff in SST and have a heart for the help they gave. Application is open to all individuals, groups (of max 5) and CCAs (with SMM in place).

**Do take note that the purpose behind why you want to perform during the concert and the story behind your talent will be taken into consideration during the selection process.

Due to the COVID-19 situation, participants are encouraged to think of creative ways to perform together while still adhering to all the following guidelines.

  1. Your audition video must be no longer than 5 minutes (2 mins for introduction + 3 mins for performance piece).

  2. [for groups and CCAs] Not more than 5 people, and must be no less than 2 metres away from each other and mask on at all times, should be in the same camera frame (unless it is post-edit).

  3. Audio and visual (480p or above) of your video must be clear.

  4. Your performance is highly recommended to be recorded separately from the introduction before combining them into one final audition video.

  5. Be dressed appropriately (use costumes and props if needed).

  6. No explicit content.

If you, your group of friends, or CCA are interested in participating in the SSTalent Show: FROM THE HE♡RT, please fill in this form. (The form closes on 13 August 2021 (T3W7 Friday) 2000h

If you require criteria and rubrics for the selection of performances, do refer to SAW 2021 Audition Criteria and Rubrics

Whereas for the SAW Host auditions, the concept will be on “Family Life”, where each of the 4 hosts will represent a family member in the 1980s. You may first apply to take part in the audition and may even recommend up to 3 other friends. This is only applicable to Secondary 2s and 3s. Further details will be provided once you apply.

If you are interested in being a host, please fill in this form. (The form closes on 18 July 2021 (T3W3 Sunday) 2000h) Note that this is only for applications, auditions will be on a later date.

Thank you and we look forward to your submissions!

From the Peer Support Board :)

POSB Smart Buddy Programme

Dear Students

We are pleased to share with you that we have worked with POSB to implement the POSB Smart Buddy Programme in School starting from 1 July 2021.  This is in line with the Government's initiative to encourage cashless transactions to minimise contact risks amidst COVID-19.

Under the POSB Smart Buddy programme, NETS transaction terminals have been installed at all our canteen stalls, at the Cafe and the bookshop to allow for NETS payment using EZ-Link cards (with stored value) or any cards with the "NETS Contactless" logo (tap and pay).

Your parents may also register you for the POSB Smart Buddy Card via this link.

Thank you.
