Racial Harmony Day 2024 - You are encouraged to be in ethnic costumes on 22 July Monday

Dear Students,

As part of Racial Harmony Day commemorations and shared during morning assembly on 15 July 2024, you are encouraged to dress in ethnic costumes for school on 22nd July, Monday.

As such, please note the following guidelines to ensure a pleasant and meaningful experience for everyone.

1. Costumes should be respectful of the culture and race associated. We hope that this provides opportunities for the SST Family to learn more about each other's cultures and practices.

Please see infographic as a starting point for reference.

2. Please be mindful of the Dos and Dont’s by referring to the SST Attire and Grooming guidelines. Be respectful with your choice of ethnic attire. Also,

  • Students are required to wear covered shoes.

  • Students who do not wish to come in ethnic costumes can choose to do so in full school uniform/S&W attire and are reminded to not be in half uniform. E.g. S&W top and school pants, ethnic top with school pants

  • Please note that for S&W lessons/CCA, you will have to change into appropriate S&W/CCA attire and footwear.

  • Students who do not comply with the guidelines may face disciplinary consequences.

Thank you,

Brought to you by the NE Committee

Ms Esther, Mr Seth Tan, Ms Tan Sook Qin, Ms Christine Lam and Ms Liew Sui Qiong

This year, in anticipation of our 15th year anniversary in 2025, our theme for this photo and video competition will be "Essence of SST, capturing moments in SST that make us the school we are. What we are looking for this year are moments that encapsulate the SST spirit, be it through instances during your school day or the ones that make you go, “I am proud to be part of the SST Family!”

With regards to the rules, some things to take note of will be that the photos and videos submitted must be the participant's original work. Basic enhancements such as effects, filters, cropping, and basic light adjustments by the camera or phone are allowed. However, digital manipulation that distorts the reality of the content is not accepted. The use of Generative AI is not accepted.
