[S1, S2, S3] Out of Bounds areas on 4 Oct, 9 Oct and 17 Oct

 Dear S1, S2 and S3 students,

  • Please be informed that the Secondary 4 students will be taking their GCE O-Level Science Practical Examination on 4 Oct (Wed)9 Oct (Mon) and 17 Oct (Tue).
  • The exam venues are Biology Labs and Chemistry Labs in Block C, Level 1. As such, the area outside these labs are Out of Bounds to ALL students. Do not walk into this area.
  • Other Out of Bounds areas in Block C are Level 2 (outside Phy Labs) and Level 3 (outside Lecture Theatre and Seminar Room).
  • In addition, 2 sets of staircase are also Out of Bounds. Please use the staircase next to the walkway to MPH or the staircase next to the canteen. See the layout of Block C Level 1 below.

If you come across areas that are cordoned off, please take an alternative route.

General Repair & Redecoration (GR&R) and Rooftop Waterproofing Works in SST

We are pleased to share that the school will commence with the General Repair & Redecoration (GR&R) and Rooftop Waterproofing Works for Block A, B, C and D starting 18 September 2023 until the end of December 2023 (subject to changes).

All schools will undergo General Repairs and Redecoration (GR&R) every 5 years. The work in the GR&R includes major repairs and paintwork to maintain the school’s façade and premises. This project was scheduled to kick off in 2020, but was temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Rest assured, we will work closely with the contractor to complete the painting on time. We will take all necessary measures to ensure your safety and security. We have also communicated with the contractor that the noise level should be reduced to a minimum wherever possible.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused. For any clarifications or concerns, please do not hesitate to approach us at General Office.

Start of Term 4 - Reminders

Dear Students, 


Welcome back to SST in Term 4, 2023!


A gentle reminder for all students to be appropriately attired and groomed when you report for school on 12 Sept 2023 (Tuesday), 11 Sept 2023 is a school holiday (Teachers' Day).


 The attire and grooming check will be conducted on Term 4 Week 1, 13 Sept 2023 (Wednesday) during the Assembly period in class. Please visit the hairdresser or barber if needed!


The guidelines for attire and grooming are as follows:


  • Attire worn must be clean and neatly pressed with no holes, tears, or frayed areas
  • Kindly also replace your uniform if they are too small, too short, or they have become too faded
  • Male Students
    • Hair must be short and neatly combed
    • Clean-shaven (not allowed to keep facial hair such as beards, long sideburns, or moustaches)
    • Must tuck in their polo t-shirt and wear a belt if necessary.
    • Belts (if worn) must be black in color and must be plain without fancy patterns.
    • Buckles must only have simple designs and must not be too large.
  • Female Students
    • Hair that is shoulder length or longer must be tied up
    • Simple hair accessories such as hand bands and hair clips may be worn
    • Long fringe should be clipped up
    • Fingernails must be kept clean, short, and unvarnished

Kids Learn Code recruitment drive applications starts!

 Dear SSTudent, 


Thank you for attending our sharing during assembly about our meaningful experience introducing Primary School students to coding at Anderson Primary School,


Kids Learn Code is a non-profit ground-up initiative planned and run by students from SST. We hope to invite interested students to volunteer in our virtual End-of-Year programme and other upcoming programmes organised by Kids Learn Code. 


For every program run by Kids Learn Code, we would invite a few volunteers to teach P4-P6 students the basics of Python coding language, computational thinking or Scratch. At the end of the programme, you will gain valuable experience in not only lesson delivery, but also in making a positive difference to the beneficiaries. presentation skills and receive service hours.

2023 Singapore Cancer Society X ACE leadership collaboration - Service Learning opportunities

Dear SST Family,

We are the SCS@ACE Team, a group of ACE Leaders who collaborate with the Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) to advocate for their work and encourage student volunteers to contribute to their effort.


The 15th Race Against Cancer, RAC 2023, invites people of all walks of life to join in the fight and run alongside those who are impacted by cancer, because no one should fight cancer alone. RAC aims to raise funds for cancer treatment subsidies, welfare assistance, cancer rehabilitation, hospice care, cancer screenings, research, public education and cancer support group initiatives in Singapore.


Volunteer for Race Entry Pack Collection (REPC)

The RAC Race Entry Pack Collection (REPC) takes place on the 2nd and 3rd September, with Morning Shifts (9:30am-3pm), Afternoon Shifts (2:30pm-8pm), or Full Day Shifts (9:30am-8pm) at Westgate, Jurong East. You may volunteer on any of these days and shifts to help with the Race Entry Pack Collection.


Volunteer for RAC 2023 Event

RAC 2023 will take place on 17 September 2023. You can volunteer from 4am to 11am at Angsana Green, East Coast Park, with shuttle buses from different MRT stations at 4am, to help out with the 2023 Race Against Cancer.

Important Updates for T3W10 & T4W1 - if Polling Day will be held on 1 Sep 2023 FRIDAY

With the announcement of the upcoming Presidential Election where Polling Day will potentially be held on 1 Sept, Friday, adjustments are made to the school calendar to facilitate the use of the school compounds for the Presidential Election.

These changes will ONLY take effect once it has been confirmed that Polling Day will be held on 1 Sept, Friday.
