Dear Sec 2 & 3 NE Ambassadors,

Greetings.

On behalf of SST NE Committee, we would like to invite you to be part of this conference.  Inaugurated in 2005, the Conference provides a platform for students to gather insights as well as exchange views and opinions on inter-racial and inter-religious issues in Singapore with politicians, practitioners and community leaders.  As a NE Ambassador, this is a good platform for you to learn more about NE issues pertaining to Singapore.

There will be a forum theatre that touches issues such as stereotyping and ethnic clustering.  This forum theatre model provides a novel and light-hearted approach to engage youths on deeper issues and draw reflections.  You will get a chance to be part of breakout discussions and a plenary session by Mr Daniel Yun, Producer of the upcoming local movie - 1965.  There will be a dialogue session with the Guest of Honour, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister of Environment and Water Resources.

The details of the Conference are as follows:
  • Theme: "Harmony in Our Hands:
  • Venue:  Temasek Convention Centre (Temasek Polytechnic)
  • Time:  9.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m.
  • Date:  Saturday, 11th July 2015
  • Admission:  Free
The objectives of the Conference are:
(a)  To reflect on the past 50 years of nation building;
(b)  To reflect and elicit youths' views on whether Singapore has reached a truly racially harmonious state in the past 50 years;
(c)  To raise awareness on challenges concerning communal cohesion in increasingly diversified Singapore and;
(d)  Inspire and equip youth participants with the mind set and attitude to take ownership on resolving some of the issues that Singapore may face in the next phrase of nation building in terms of racial harmony and social cohesion.

To facilitate the reply, everyone need to reply.  NIL reply is required.  We would appreciate it if you fill up this document latest by Monday, 6 July 3 p.m.

Looking forward to your reply.

Thank you.
