[For Info] Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Celebrations (30 June to 10 July 2016)

Please read below message from the Singapore Youth Festival Secretariat:

We are delighted to inform you that the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Celebrations will begin on 30^th June and span the first two July weekends. The SYF Art Exhibition begins on 1^st July. Please click here for the trailer: SYF 2016 July Attractions Trailer

Schools and the public are warmly welcome to visit a mix of platforms, all free-of-charge:

1 to 10 July	*SYF 2016 ArtExhibition @ The Arts House***	· Inspiring student artworks (in the form of videos, installation, sculpture, painting and photography) from Secondary Schools, Junior Colleges and Centralised Institute, based on the theme Artist and Space
30 June to 3 July	*SYF 2016 Celebrations @ The Esplanade*	· Youth arts workshops [still available for sign-ups] · Music and Dance performances and art-making at various Esplanade venues · Our Heritage, Our Dreams: Heritage Showcase at the Esplanade Festival Corner commemorating 50 years of SYF
2 July	*SYF-SHINE Festival Collaborative @ Orchard*	· Parade of Bands: Showcase of school bands marching down and performing on Orchard Road · Youth Got Talent!: Showcase of diverse youth creative talents in music composition, breakdancing, beatbox battling, magic acts, rope-skipping, diabolo, etc.
8 to 10 July	*SYF 2016 Uniformed Groups Carnival @ Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza*	· Showcase of signature programmes and performances from all 9 UGs

HBL - in Timetable

Blended Learning in MOE’s context refers to a seamless blending of different modes of learning to enhance students’ educational experience. One aspect of Blended Learning is the integration of home-based learning (HBL) as a regular feature of the schooling experience.

HBL takes place once a fortnight when students do not report to school for lessons, but carry out self-directed learning or activities assigned to be completed remotely.

Instructions and tasks will be assigned by the subject teacher in the Google Classroom (though the tasks may not be confined to the Google Classroom).

HBL - not in Timetable

In the event that HBL is declared for a school day (i.e. not in timetable or pre-planned):
1. Subject lessons will follow current timetable.
2. Lessons will take place via the existing GMeet/ Online platforms set up in the subject Google Classrooms.
3. Login and report to the Form Teacher at the usual morning assembly time for attendance taking and morning briefing. REMEMBER:
Check the Students Blog and your official email regularly (8 am and 5pm) for any updates communicated to you in the day.
