School Parent Meeting (26 May)

Dear students, As shared by your Form Teachers earlier in class, the School Parent Meeting will take place on 26 May 2022. You are not expected to be in school as there are no formal lessons. Information for the day has been given to you through your form teachers. Please note that the attire for the meeting will be the SST school polo T-shirt or S&W T-shirt for the meeting. Thank you.

[Update] Singapore Mathematical Society (SMS) Essay Competition 2022

Dear students,

After receiving feedback about the timeline for submissions for the Singapore Mathematical Society (SMS) Essay Competition 2022, we have extended the deadline till 20 June 2022

The objective of the competition is to expose students to topics related to Math and encourage articulation of Math through the exposition on these topics. The theme for this year is “Mathematics and Environmental Sustainability”.

More details on the competition can be found HERE.

You may sign up for the competition as an individual or as a team of no more than 3 members from the same level (lower secondary/ upper secondary).

If you are interested in signing up for the competition, please submit your essay via this Google form. The extended deadline for this form submission is 20 June 2022 (Monday), 5 p.m.

A panel of teachers will decide whether your essay is suitable for submission to the organisers. Cost of submission for the selected entries will be paid by the school.

#SEAstainable - An ACE Student-initiated Service-Learning Project

Dear SST Family,

As part of #SEAstainable, an ACE student-initiated project that aims to raise awareness about ocean conservancy and plastic pollution, ACE Leaders from the #SSTore@ACE team have produced a short video explaining the impacts of plastic pollution on the oceans and what you can do to help. Watch this short video and learn about how micro-plastics impact the ocean and the simple steps you can take to reduce these impacts.

[Upper Sec] Volunteering Opportunity: Heartware Network National Day Parade Hospitality Management 2022

Dear Sec 3 and 4 student,  

Since 2000, Heartware Network has been supporting the National Day Parade Executive Committee (NDP EXCO) by training and managing a group of youth volunteers to provide support in the area of hospitality management at the annual National Day Parade (NDP). 

In the 23rd year of collaboration with the NDP EXCO, Heartware Network will be recruiting, training and developing youths into leaders of tomorrow through the exciting experience of serving the community at a national event.


*Please note that this is only open to students 15 years old and above.

Launch of #SST-ACTivate! website for information and sharing on SST Service-learning projects

The ACE Committee has just launched a new service learning website, #SST-ACTivate



This website contains a collection of articles, list of voluntary welfare organisations and initiatives, service learning projects that students embarked on in the past to inspire you, as well as guides on how you may do the same in making a positive difference to the community.


You are highly encouraged to take time to explore the website so as to become stewards of change for the betterment of the community at large (: However, note that while the application dates for initiating an open group service learning project has closed, you may still do so with your CCA or committees.

Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) 2022


You are invited to take part in the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) 2022.

The AMC is an engaging 30-problem competition that demonstrates the importance and relevance of mathematics in students' everyday lives.

2022 NRIC Registration in School (for 15 Year Olds)

Dear Sec 3 Students,

Under the National Registration Regulations, all Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents are required to register for their NRIC in the year they reach the age of 15 years.  The NRIC Registration Exercise (biometrics enrolment) will be conducted at SST on 20 May 2022 by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA). 

Date:    20 May 2022 (Friday)
Time:   1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Venue:  SST Learning Oasis (LO1), Blk C, Level 3

Class Schedule  
1.00 pm  -  S3-01, S3-02, S3-03
1.30 pm  -  S3-04, S3-05
2.00 pm  -  S3-06, S3-07
2.30 pm  -  S3-08, S3-09

Parents of registrants will receive notification letters from ICA two (2) weeks before the date of registration. The documents required for the registration will also be indicated in the notification letter.  Parents will be required to login to - go.gov.sg/icreg with their SingPass to submit the NRIC registration online at least 3 days before the appointment date. They are required to do the following:

  • Verify their child’s particulars; (If you wish to add Chinese/Jawi/Tamil Characters, please include during the online submission under the ‘Ethnic Name’ field. If you do not include it in your application, ICA will not be able to amend your application thereafter)
  • Upload their child’s photograph and supporting documents (where applicable); and
  • Make payment for their child’s NRIC application ($10 for Singapore Citizens / $50 for Permanent Residents) 

To ensure that your biometrics are enrolled smoothly, please complete the registration online before 17 May 2022.

Students are to bring along their Ez-Link Card (MOE School Smart Card) on the day of the registration.

Students who are unable to be present for the biometrics enrolment for their NRIC in school will be required to make an appointment with ICA for their biometrics enrolment.
