We are pleased to inform you that the CDAC - SFCCA Bursary 2015 for Secondary 1 to 4 students is open for application from now till 30 January 2015.
The eligibility criteria are as follows:
(1) Race/Citizenship
Chinese students who are Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents. At least one parent is Chinese.
(2) Income
Monthly Gross Household Income (GHI) not exceeding $3,300 or monthly Per Capita Income (PCI) not exceeding $900 are eligible to attend enrichment programmes/courses organised by CDAC centres.
Monthly GHI not exceeding $1,900 or monthly PCI not exceeding $650, successful applicant will receive a bursary quantum of $450 and also eligible to attend enrichment programmes/courses organised by CDAC.
(3) Conduct
Excellent, Very Good or Good
(4) Attendance
At least 90% unless with valid reasons
(5) Others
Not receiving The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund and other scholarship. Those receiving MOE Edusave Scholarships or ISB may apply.
Application Procedures and Submission:
If you qualify to apply for this bursary, please collect the application form from SST General Office or download the form from www.cdac.org.sg. The completed form needs to be endorsed by SST General Office before your submission to CDAC. Please note that application to CDAC closes on 30 January 2015.
For those who have applied during the last quarter of 2014, you will be notified of the outcome by CDAC soon.

Dear Parents
Due to popularity of the session, Session #2 (16 January) is over-subscribed.
We would like to seek your understanding that we are keeping the number of participants at a comfortable size so that all parents would be engaged in the hands-on activities. As such, we are unable to accommodate a larger group.
However, we are running a similar session on 16 February (Friday) - Parents Engagement Session #4. This will be the same as Session #2, to be held on 16 January 2015.

Temperature Measurement Exercise
Dear Students
Please be reminded that the school will be conducting a temperature measurement exercise tomorrow, 7 January 2015.
This is to ensure the school’s preparedness in case of emergencies, and to familiarise our students with the process.
The temperature measurement exercise also serves to educate our students on the need to take personal responsibility for their own health and social responsibility for the health of others.
The Oral Digital Thermometer (ODT), which costs $5.00 each, can be purchased from the school bookshop, if necessary.
All students are reminded to keep their ODTs in good working condition.

Badge Ceremony 2015 will take place on 16 Jan 2015 from 1900 - 2130 hours in the Multi-Purpose Hall.
This is an important event which all Secondary One students attend and it marks the official completion of the Orientation and the new students officially join the SST family.
All Secondary One students are to attend the rehearsals on the following dates and times.

7 Jan 2015 - Temperature Taking Excercise
There will be a Temperature Taking Exercise on 7 January 2015 (Wednesday). The objective of the temperature-measurement exercise is to remind our students of the need to exercise social responsibility and personal hygiene, and to be prepared against threats posed by diseases such as Influenza A virus.
Students are reminded to bring their personal Oral Digital Thermometer (ODT) on 7 January 2015. To ensure that smooth running of the exercise, all students are to ensure that their ODTs in good working and clean condition. Students who do not have a working ODT may purchase one at the school bookshop at $5.00 each. Please make your purchase before 7 January 2015. Disciplinary actions will be taken for students who did not bring their thermometer on that day.

2015 Pre-school Engagement Programme - Session 5
Mindmaps enable us to link and present relationships of ideas in a diagrammatic way. There are several online mindmapping platforms, and many allow us to collaborate with others online.
Some of these online mindmapping platforms also allow us to insert images, video clips and hyperlinks to relevant websites. Mindmeister and Popplet are examples of such online apps.
2. Identify one Maths topic you learnt in primary school (e.g. Decimals, Fractions, Model Drawing).

- Go to https://www.mindmeister.com/ and click on the Sign in button on the top right hand corner.
- In the pop-up, choose more -> Google Apps
- Key in "s2015.sst.edu.sg" and click "Sign in".
Mindmeister Task
- Generate a to-do list for the first day of school in Google Doc.
- Convert the list to a mindmap using the Mindmeister Google Doc add-on. Watch the following video for the how-tos.
- Embed and publish your google Doc in your blog.
Popplet Activity
1. Create a Popplet account- URL: http://popplet.com/
- Create the account using your FULL name and school email account.
