[All] Talk by Dr Nicholas Yap - Field Methodology: Air, Water & Soil Analyses & Biodiversity

Dear students,

As part of the Integrated Diploma Programme, Sec 4 Environmental Chemistry students are embarking on an alternative assessment which require them to apply the knowledge learnt from the experts from NUS.

We are pleased to open up this opportunity to interested students who would like to hear from Dr Nicholas Yap.

He will share his expertise on fieldwork methodologies used by scientists to monitor and analyze air, water, and soil quality and biodiversity.

HBL - in Timetable

Blended Learning in MOE’s context refers to a seamless blending of different modes of learning to enhance students’ educational experience. One aspect of Blended Learning is the integration of home-based learning (HBL) as a regular feature of the schooling experience.

HBL takes place once a fortnight when students do not report to school for lessons, but carry out self-directed learning or activities assigned to be completed remotely.

Instructions and tasks will be assigned by the subject teacher in the Google Classroom (though the tasks may not be confined to the Google Classroom).

HBL - not in Timetable

In the event that HBL is declared for a school day (i.e. not in timetable or pre-planned):
1. Subject lessons will follow current timetable.
2. Lessons will take place via the existing GMeet/ Online platforms set up in the subject Google Classrooms.
3. Login and report to the Form Teacher at the usual morning assembly time for attendance taking and morning briefing. REMEMBER:
Check the Students Blog and your official email regularly (8 am and 5pm) for any updates communicated to you in the day.
