Please be reminded that the Inter-school Step Challenge is still on and it is coming to an end of 10 weeks on 22nd April, Friday. SST is currently still standing at 7th Position out of 27 schools.

We will do a final collation again after the END of the challenge.

Application for NEU PC Plus Grant through School (Secondary 1 to 4 students)

Dear students

SST has worked with IDA to provide the NEU PC Plus Grant, which allows students from low-income households to own a brand new computer at an affordable price. Under the programme, SST students fulfilling certain criteria will be able to own a Macbook Pro at little or no cash payment. Students who meet the criteria, may obtain the application form by either downloading the form HERE or collect a hardcopy from SST General Office. Completed applications and supporting documents are to be submitted directly to SST General Office for processing and the school's approval. The application deadline is on 9 May 2016.

2016 eOral exam for Mother Tongue/ Higher Mother Tongue

1. eOral Exam Practice Session(PS)

Please be informed that you are required to attend Practice Session(PS) for eOral Exam next week. The main objective of the PS is to familiarise candidates with the process flow of the eOral Exam. 

Please report at Tutorial room 3 & 4, Blk B Level 5 (05-05) at the scheduled time. Attendance will be taken and a briefing on the eOral Exam procedures will be given before you proceed to the Infohub for the PS.  Bring along your student pass/Identification card. No electronics devices will be allowed.

2. School-based eOral Exam

Following the PS, you will sit for School-based eOral Exam as part of Common Test. For sec 4 students, eOral exam marks will contribute toward Preliminary Exam. 

School-based eOral Exam will be conducted after school hours at Blk C Level 4 classrooms. Please bring along your student pass/Identification card. No electronics devices will be allowed at the exam venue. Each session will take approximately 3 hours for all candidates to be assessed.

Student Leaders' Investiture is taking place on 15 April 2016, Friday and all Secondary 2 and 3 students are attending this event. Please be seated in the MPH by 1015. The ceremony will commence at 1030 sharp.

The objectives of Student Leaders' Investiture are:

•    To officially recognise newly elected student leaders into office, vesting them with their duties as leaders.

•    To symbolically present the handing over of duties from present student leaders to new student leaders.

21C Girls Empower FinTech Camp

Dear ladies,

21C Girls is organising a FinTech Workshop (Project Empower) this coming June. It is a 2 weeks full-time project based learning workshop to teach the students coding in the context of a real world challenge.

This workshop is only for girls because we want to empower girls to look at tech as a possible career option for them.

EL Oral Communication Prelim Exams, Some Areas Out of Bounds

Performance: Lyrics & Notes 2016

Painting and Message-Writing Competition for 4th ASEAN Children’s Forum (ACF)

The Ministry of Social and Family Development is organising the competition, Painting and Message-Writing Competition for 4th ASEAN Children’s Forum (ACF).

The ASEAN Children's Forum (ACF) is a regional platform for children to work together and express their opinions on issues and concerns affecting them and promote understanding of one another’s culture. The 2^nd ACF was held in Singapore in 2012. The 4^th ACF will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam from 20 – 24 June 2016.  

As part of the Forum, the organisers request all ASEAN Member States to conduct national painting and message-writing competition for ASEAN Vision 2025, done by children and adolescents. Selected paintings and messages will be printed on related collaterals, large wall painting/poster exhibited during the forum and published in a book to be distributed to different levels of ASEAN meetings. The details can be found in the attached.

You are encouraged to take part in the competition. 

• Students can send their entries directly to the organiser. 
• The top three winners of each category will win attractive prizes.  
• The overall winner will be sponsored by the ACF organisers to attend the 4^th ACF in Hanoi. 

The organiser looks forward to receiving entries from you by 25 April 2016.
