2016 Pre-school Engagement Programme - Overview

Dear 2016 Sec 1 Students

A warm welcome and congratulation to making it to the SST family!

In December 2015, the ICT Department will be rolling out a series of web-based activities with the objective of preparing you for the ICT-enabled activities that you will go through in the new academic year.

The activities will be carried out primarily in two modes:

Online instructions or tutorials on SST Student Blog
Activities submission through Google Classroom

Look out for a personalised email from me in the next few days.

Starting from 7 December 2015, instructions on these activities will be posted up in the Students blog. If you miss anyone of the activities, simply refer to the left panel and filter the blog posts that come with the label "2016 Pre-School Engagement Programme". The related posts will be displayed.

You may also visit Google Classroom to your enrolled course "2016 Pre-School Engagement Programme" to catch up the missed information.

Remember to

HBL - in Timetable

Blended Learning in MOE’s context refers to a seamless blending of different modes of learning to enhance students’ educational experience. One aspect of Blended Learning is the integration of home-based learning (HBL) as a regular feature of the schooling experience.

HBL takes place once a fortnight when students do not report to school for lessons, but carry out self-directed learning or activities assigned to be completed remotely.

Instructions and tasks will be assigned by the subject teacher in the Google Classroom (though the tasks may not be confined to the Google Classroom).

HBL - not in Timetable

In the event that HBL is declared for a school day (i.e. not in timetable or pre-planned):
1. Subject lessons will follow current timetable.
2. Lessons will take place via the existing GMeet/ Online platforms set up in the subject Google Classrooms.
3. Login and report to the Form Teacher at the usual morning assembly time for attendance taking and morning briefing. REMEMBER:
Check the Students Blog and your official email regularly (8 am and 5pm) for any updates communicated to you in the day.
