[Invitation to Participate] The 2023 NUS Statistics Poster Competition

Dear Students,

The Department of Statistics and Data Science, NUS, is organising a yearly competition for pre-university students. The objective of the competition is to expose young people to concepts and methods used in statistics and data science.

Participation is open to all students of secondary schools, polytechnics and junior colleges in Singapore.

Submissions have to be in the form of a poster, in which students attempt to answer a well-specified question by means of a specific data set.

Students may work individually or in teams. The maximum number of students per team is five. Students will work on their entries under their teachers' supervision.

Students are free to choose a topic of their interest, and they are free to choose a data set related to that topic. They are also free to formulate the specific questions they want to answer with that data set.

If you are interested in signing up for the competition, please form groups of no more than 5 people and indicate your interest here.

More information on the competition can be found here:

https://www.stat.nus.edu.sg/2023/05/25/statistics-competition-2023/

The deadline for registration is 3 July 2023 (Monday), 5 p.m.
