New Pedestrian Crossing at the foyer in front of General Office

Dear Students

Welcome back to school!

During the June vacations, the school has embarked on several projects to enhance our infrastructure. One key improvement to enhance safety is the implementation of a zebra crossing at the foyer in front of the General Office. Students who enter or leave the school via Gate B should utilize the zebra crossing. Please look out for incoming traffic and wait for the vehicles to come to a complete halt before crossing the road.

There are on-going improvement works. These are the installation of lift at Block B to C link way (from Levels 1 to 5), expansion of the Robotics Club Room and the implementation of a Makers' Space (former ADMT Studio). Please exercise caution when you are near these work areas.
Thank you.

Health Advisory to Parents

Dear Parents/Guardians

During the June vacation, you might have travelled to countries and regions affected by MERS-CoV (e.g. South Korea, Middle East etc). We would like you to note that Ministry of Health (MOH) has advised travellers to these affected countries to inform their doctor of the areas that they have travelled to should they become unwell or develop a fever within 2 weeks from the return to these areas. You may wish to refer to the following URL for further details on MOH advisory regarding travel to a MERS-CoV area (www.moh.gov.sg).  Students who are unwell within 2 weeks from their travel to a MERS-CoV affected area should see a doctor, and refrain from coming back to school until he/she is recovered.

To ensure the wellbeing of our students, we would like to seek your help to inform us if your child had travelled to South Korea or to the Middle East during the June vacation. We would appreciate it if you could provide us with the information using this link:
Thank you.
Warmest regards,
School of Science and Technology, Singapore.

2015 Inter-House Cosplay Challenge and 2015 Inter-House Lip Synch Challenge

The Inter House Cosplay Challenge and the Inter House Lip Synch Challenge will take place during Assembly, 10 July 2015.  If you are interested in participating or helping, please contact your house captains or vice captains.

2015 Inter-House CosPlay Challenge

This challenge will be judged on how the character(s) is/are closest to the original in terms of performance and costume(s). The costume(s) do/does not have to be self-made. The choice of character(s) to cosplay can be from any tradition. It can be from Japanese anime, Marvel comics, popular stories and movies.

  • Each character is given a minimum of 1 minute and a maximum of 2 minutes to perform. The choice of performance is based on what your character is. For example: If she is a vocaloid, then singing and movement is expected or if the character is one from a first person shooter game then the actions have to be appropriate to that character.
  • Each House must provide an emcee to introduce the character(s) and storyline if needed. This will count towards the overall marks.
  • Do remember not everyone watches the same anime, play the same games, read the same books or watch the same movies, so you might have to help the audience appreciate your characters better.
  • Music, sound effect, slides or video can be used as accompaniment.
  • After 2 minutes (includes emcee time), the performer will be asked to leave the stage.

2015 Inter-House Lip Synch Challenge

This challenge is judged on how well your performer(s) can 're-create' the actual performer(s) of a song of your own choice. You will be given marks for creativity in the choice and use of props, sets, make up, costumes, slides, video, etc.

  • You are given a minimum of 1 minute to a maximum of 4 minutes to perform (includes emcee time). You are allowed to truncate the song. However, you would have to do your own song mix to avoid any awkward sudden stopping of the performance.
  • Each House must provide an emcee to introduce the item as this will count towards the overall marks.
  • Music, sound effect, slides or video can be used as accompaniment.
  • After 4 minutes (includes emcee time), the performer(s) will be asked to leave the stage.
