[S1, S2, S3, S4] Dismissal time on 5 July (Tue)

Dear students,

The GCE O-Level MTL Listening Comprehension Exam takes place next Tuesday, 5 July, 3.00pm.

Please note the dismissal time for the different groups of students:

1. All Secondary 4 students and Secondary 3 HMTL students  - 1.20pm

2. Secondary 3 students - 1.40pm.

3. Secondary 2 students - 1.20pm. S2-01 to S2-04 classrooms will be used as exam venues.

4. Secondary 1 students - 2.00pm. No change in dismissal time.

All students who are not taking the exam are to leave the school premises by 2.15pm. This is to provide a quiet and conducive environment for the candidates.

Please note the following:


  • Dismissal Timing for Sec 3 Higher MTL and Sec 4 MTL lessons on 5th July at 1.20pm.

  • Sec 4 lesson arrangements for 5th July. Please note that the 1.20-2.20pm lesson is brought forward to 12.40pm; the duration is reduced to 40 minutes. New timeslot is 12.40 to 1.20pm

As per the briefing held on 27th June (For Sec 3 students) and 28th June (For Sec 4 students), kindly refer to the common set of briefing slides. In addition, you are to check your candidature list, with information on the exam venue and the seating plan prior to the exam on 5th July.

Invitation to ‘Singapore Our Home SG75 Competition 2022’

Dear Students, 

The annual Singapore Our Home SG75 Competition is hosted by Tanjong Pagar-Tiong Bahru CCC (TP-TBCCC) with Minister Indranee as adviser. 

Theme: “Inclusive Singapore


Dream about what Singapore would be like in SG75 (2040), and through showcasing Singapore’s can-do spirit, in envision how a collective legacy for our beloved Singapore can be created together in your submission. 

(More info is provided on the poster) 


The Competition invites original works in two categories namely, the Primary Schools and Open. 


Each participant of the competition may submit entries as:

1. Static presentation which includes essay, illustrations, graphic design, and photo submissions; and/or

2. Dynamic presentation consists of animation and video submission.

Participants may also submit their work on an individual basis or in a group of not more than six members.

Gentle reminders for start of Term 3 2022

Dear Students, 

Welcome back to SST in Term 3, 2022!

Gentle reminder for all students to be appropriately attired and groomed when you report for school on 27 Jun 2022 (Monday):

  • Attire worn must be clean and neatly pressed with no holes, tears or frayed areas
  • Kindly also replace your uniform if they are too small and/or short or they have become too faded
  • Male Students
    • Hair must be short and neatly combed
    • Clean-shaven (not allowed to keep facial hair such as beards, long side-burns or moustaches)
    • Must tuck in their polo t-shirt and wear a belt if necessary.
    • Belts (if worn) must be black in colour and must be plain without fancy patterns.
    • Buckles must only have simple designs and must not be too large.
  • Female Students
    • Hair that is shoulder length or longer must be tied up
    • Simple hair accessories such as hand bands, hair clips may be worn
    • Long fringe should be clipped up
    • Fingernails must be kept clean, short and unvarnished

Invitation to Statistics Poster Competition 2022

Dear students,

The NUS Department of Statistics and Applied Probability is organising a yearly competition for pre-university students. The objective of the competition for pre-university students. The objective of the competition is to expose young people to concepts and methods used in statistics and data science.  

Participation is open to all students of secondary schools, polytechnics and junior colleges in Singapore.  

Submissions have to be in form of a poster, in which students attempt to answer a well-specified question by means of specific data set. Students may work individually or in teams. The maximum number of students per team is five. Students will work on their entries under their teachers' supervision.  Students are free to choose a topic of their interest and they are free to choose a data set related to that topic. They are also free to formulate the specific questions they would like to answer with that data set.  

If you are interested in signing up for the competition, please form groups of no more than 5 people and indicate your interest via this form.

Closure of General Office and Info Hub on 23 June 2022 (whole day) and 24 June 2022 (8 am - 2 pm)

GenerationTech (for female students only)

 Dear Students,

J.P. Morgan, in collaboration with SG Women in Tech, is hosting GenerationTech - a 3-week design-based technology challenge where female secondary school students work in teams to design a solution for a U.N. Sustainable Development Goal.

They will learn new transferable hard and soft skillsets such as teamwork, communication, technology, design and presentation skills. Students will be supported by technologists from J.P. Morgan to leverage digital tools to address a social challenge.

The dates are Friday Jul 15 – Friday, Aug 5.

Games 4 Migrants Volunteering opportunities - An ACE student-initiated service learning project

Dear SST Family,

In partnership with Migrant Workers Centre, Games 4 Migrants (G4M) is a student-initiated service learning project that aims to make migrant workers in Singapore feel more included and appreciated by providing online learning materials and games that introduce them to various aspects of Singapore. 

We have produced a short video sharing more about migrant workers in Singapore and how you can create your own games to help the migrant worker community.

Project well;being sticker design contest - A Student-initiated Service-Learning Project

Dear SST Family,

As part of our Student-Initiated Service Learning Project, a group of Secondary 4 students initiated well;being, a project which aims to break the stigma around mental health conditions, and also assure those who struggle with mental health that it is okay to reach out for help.


From now to 3 June, our sticker designing contest will be open to all students. Do submit your designs here!


For those who are not participating in the contest, do not worry as you can still contribute by buying the stickers. More information on how you can do so will be provided soon so do keep a lookout for that!
